Increase in fuel prices from 24 January 2022
The December 2021 Ordinary meeting of Council passed the following resolution:
Council resolves to maintain the current fuel subsidy whilst increasing the sale price of both unleaded and diesel fuel to $3.00 per litre (inclusive of GST) due to increased fuel related costs, effective from 24 January 2022 and amend the Register of Fees and Charges accordingly.

COVID-19 Update
The Torres Strait Island Regional Council (TSIRC) coordinates with the Torres Strait Local Disaster Management Group (TSLDMG) and receives daily updates on COVID-19 cases from Torres and Cape Hospital and Health Services. The TSLDMG works to reduce the negative impact disasters can have on communities and responds to disasters when they happen.
The Ordinary Meeting of Council for the month of January will be held via video conference over the following days:
Tuesday 18 January 2022, immediately following the Trustee Meeting which will commence at 9:00am.
Wednesday 18 August 2021, 9:00am
General public is welcome to attend via their local Council office.
Please note, that an audio recording is made of each Council meeting. This recording is authorised under the Public Records Act 2002 and is used to assist with preparing meeting minutes.
MEDIA RELEASE REGARDING COVID

Torres Strait Island Regional Council Mayor Phillemon Mosby has encouraged all residents to have a COVID-ready kit in their homes in order to prepare for COVID to impact communities. The kits and information are available at local Health Centres.
