From 1 September 2021 single-use plastic will no longer be allowed to be used in Queensland.

By not using single-use plastic we will help keep our environment clean and healthy for future generations.

COVID-19 Lockdown - Cairns and Yarrabah Local Government Areas

If you are from Cairns or a resident of Torres Strait returning from Cairns after 4pm Sunday 08/08/21, you must comply with the lockdown requirements for Cairns.

Changes to Commercial & Construction Waste Disposal

To help keepeh ilan kleen commercial and construction waste is no longer accepted for disposal at landfills in our region.

As of 1 July 2021 we now require all commercial and construction waste to be removed from and responsibly disposed of outside the TSIRC Local Government Area.
