Important Community Notice

Increase in fuel prices from 24 January 2022

The December 2021 Ordinary meeting of Council passed the following resolution:
Council resolves to maintain the current fuel subsidy whilst increasing the sale price of both unleaded and diesel fuel to $3.00 per litre (inclusive of GST) due to increased fuel related costs, effective from 24 January 2022 and amend the Register of Fees and Charges accordingly.

What this means for you
On 24 January 2022, the price of unleaded and diesel fuel will change at all TSIRC depots. The new price will be $3.00 per litre. The new price will come into effect on unleaded and diesel fuel when TSIRC offices open on 24 January 2022.

Things to remember
TSIRC staff are members of your community, and we ask you assist them via your understanding that they are not responsible for the price increase.

This price increase is due to the increasing price of fuel across Australia and Council’s associated operating costs. Without the Council subsidy, the price would be much higher. Council cannot increase the current subsidy and maintain the low fuel prices.

Council has and continues to subsidise the sale price of fuel it provides, however cannot increase the subsidy in the face of current increased costs. The sale price will be reviewed regularly and in response to operation and wholesale costs.

It is illegal to store fuel outside designated fuel depots. Do not keep bulk fuel supplies at your home.
