R U OK? Day 2020

About this event

Date:
Thursday, September 10, 2020

Today is is a national day of action when we remind all Australians that every day is the day to ask, “Are you OK?” if someone in your world is struggling with life’s ups and downs.

Let’s talk. We are stronger together.

Watch the video below where Naz & Kempo from the TSIRC team have a yarn about R U OK Day 2020 and a few simple steps to help you ask someone “Are you OK?”:

If someone you know – a family member, someone from your community, a friend, neighbour or workmate – is doing it tough, they won’t always tell you. Sometimes it’s up to us to trust our gut instinct and ask someone who may be struggling with life “Are you OK?”. By asking and listening, we can help those we care about feel more supported and connected, which can help stop them from feeling worse over time. It’s something we can all do by following a few simple steps;

- Step 1: Ask R U OK?

- Step 2: Listen with an open mind

- Step 3: Encourage action

- Step 4: Check in
