Application Form - Prescribed Activity:
Use this form to apply for a permit to undertake a Prescribed Activity - you must also print off and read thoroughly the relevant schedule before filling in the application form. All information required in the schedule should accompany your application form, along with the fee (if applicable).
If the activity includes selling food, complete the Application for Provisional Licence - Temporary Food Stall for Sale of Food (Form 4):
The following schedules from Subordinate Local Law No 1 (Administration) 2019 explain the requirements and conditions of each type of Prescribed Activity:
- Schedule 7 - Alteration or improvement - use this guide when applying for Council approval to alter or improve local government controlled areas and roads.
- Schedule 8 (a) - General commercial use - use this guide when applying for Council approval to supply goods or services for profit on local government controlled areas and roads. If the supply of goods or services is for primarily public or charitable purposes, a permit is not required. If the event will be open to the public for the purpose of entertainment, apply for a permit for Operation of a Temporary Entertainment Event (Schedule 18).
- Schedule 8 (b) - Landing and mooring approvals - use this guide when applying for Council approval to use local government controlled landings, moorings, jetties and ramps for profit.
- Schedule 9 - Establishment or occupation of a temporary home - use this guide when applying for Council approval to establish or occupy a temporary home.
- Schedule 10 - Installation of advertising devices - use this guide when applying for Council approval to install, erect or display an advertisement or sign that is visible from a road or other public place.
- Schedule 11 - Keeping animals - use this guide when applying for Council approval to keep certain numbers, species or breeds of animals for which approval is required.
- Schedule 12 - Operation of camping grounds - use this guide when applying for Council approval to operate a commercial camping ground.
- Schedule 14 - Operation of caravan parks - use this guide when applying for Council approval to operate a commercial caravan park.
- Schedule 15 - Operation of cemeteries - use this guide when applying for Council approval to operate a cemetery.
- Schedule 16 - Operation of swimming pools - use this guide when applying for Council approval to operate a swimming pool, whether for profit, public use or organised competition.
- Schedule 17 - Operation of shared facility accommodation - use this guide when applying for Council approval to provide short-stay shared facility accommodation to holiday makers or travellers.
- Schedule 18 - Operation of temporary entertainment event - use this guide when applying for Council approval to operate a temporary entertainment event (whether or not the event is for profit). If the event is part of recognised traditional and cultural practice of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people (e.g. traditional dance), no permit is required. If it is a non-for-profit event, the application fee may be waived if the applicant provides a letter requesting fee waiver and specifying grounds for waiver.
- Schedule 19 - Disturbance of human remains outside a cemetery - use this guide when applying for Council approval to disturb or move human remains buried outside a local government cemetery.
- Schedule 20 - Burial or disposal of human remains - use this guide when applying for Council approval to bury human remains outside a local government cemetery.
- Schedule 21 - Disturbance of human remains in a local government cemetery - use this guide when applying Council approval to disturb or move human remains buried in a local government cemetery.
- Schedule 22 - Driving or leading animals to cross a road - use this guide when applying for Council approval to lead animals across a road in certain circumstances.
- Schedule 23 - Depositing of goods or materials - use this guide when applying for Council approval to leave or store goods or materials on local government controlled areas and roads.
- Schedule 24 - Holding a public place activity - use this guide when applying for Council approval to hold a non-commercial event in a public place attended by 10 or more people. If the event is part of recognised traditional and cultural practice of the community (e.g. tombstone opening or funeral), a permit is not required. If the event will be open to the public for the purpose of entertainment, apply for a permit for Operation of a Temporary Entertainment Event (Schedule 18)
- Schedule 25 - Bringing or driving motor vehicles onto a park or reserve - use this guide when applying for Council approval to bring a motor vehicle onto or driving a motor vehicle on a place that is on any part of a park or reserve and not within a motor vehicle access area.
- Schedule 26 - Bringing or driving prohibited vehicles onto motor vehicle access areas - use this guide when applying for Council approval to bring a prohibited vehicle onto or driving a prohibited vehicle on a specified motor vehicle access area.
- Schedule 30 - Carrying out works on a road or interfering with a road or its operation - use this guide when applying for Council approval to carry on works on a road or intering with a road or its operation (Local Government Act 2009, s75(2)).
- Schedule 32 - Undertaking scientific research on trust areas - use this guide when applying for Council approval to undertake any form of scientific research in a trust area.
