Treaty Travel will recommence from 19 October 2022. This does not mean open and Free Travel.
Traditional visitors cannot visit until they have received approval (signed pass) from Registered Signatories.
Registered Signatories include:
For Australia: the elected Councilor of the applicable Torres Strait Island Regional Council (TSIRC) community.
For Papua New Guinea: the Village Chairman.
If you are planning on entering our community from PNG, please note that permission and passes must be obtained prior to travel.
